  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 mini stromboli 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Dried oregano and red pepper flakes for seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
  3. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce-covered area.
  5. Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
  6. Carefully roll up the puff pastry from one side to form a log. Seal the seam by pinching it together.
  7. Slice the log into 1-inch-wide sections, creating mini stromboli. Seal the seam of each new cut.
  8. Place the stromboli on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one.
  9. Brush the tops of the stromboli with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish. Optionally, sprinkle with dried oregano and red pepper flakes for extra flavor. Slash a clean knife across the top of each stromboli to release steam.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the stromboli are puffed up and golden brown.
  11. Let them cool slightly before serving, and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients like sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives for a personalized touch. For the best results, you’ll want to ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold to the touch. You’ll also want to make sure to seal the seam of the puff pastry log well to prevent the filling from oozing out during baking. Experiment with different dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or garlic aioli for an extra layer of flavor. Enjoy!
