Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup jalapeños, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Chopped scallions, for serving
For the avocado lime crema:
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, and sriracha sauce to create the bang bang sauce.
  3. Set up your breading station: Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in three separate bowls.
  4. Dip each shrimp into the flour, then the eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Place the breaded shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake the shrimp for about 10-12 minutes until they are golden and crispy.
  6. While the shrimp are baking, prepare the avocado lime crema. Blend together the avocado, sour cream, lime juice, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  7. Once the shrimp are done baking, toss them in the bang bang sauce until they are well coated.
  8. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet for a minute on each side.
  9. To assemble the tacos, place a handful of shredded lettuce on each tortilla. Top with diced tomato and sliced jalapeños.
  10. Add a generous portion of the bang bang coated shrimp to each tortilla.
  11. Drizzle a dollop of avocado lime crema on top of the shrimp.
  12. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the assembled tacos and fold them up. Garnish with chopped scallions if desired.
  13. Serve your tacos with a side of lime wedges and enjoy!

Notes

Getting the shrimp perfectly crispy is essential for the best results. Make sure they’re arranged evenly on the baking sheet to ensure even baking. Feel free to adjust the level of sriracha in the bang bang sauce and the amount of jalapeños according to your desired heat level. For added convenience, prepare the avocado lime crema ahead of time and refrigerate until serving. Enjoy!
