- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 4 servings 1x
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 8 ounces green beans, trimmed and halved
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, and green beans. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Push the vegetables to the sides of the skillet, creating a well in the center. Add the minced garlic to the center and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
For best results, slice the beef thinly and against the grain for tender and juicy meat. Keep the vegetables slightly crunchy by cooking them over high heat for a shorter time. Feel free to experiment with different sauces and seasonings to customize the flavors. You can try adding ginger, chili flakes, or a dash of sesame oil. Serve the stir fry over steamed rice or noodles for a complete and enjoy!
