  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a little heat)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until it’s browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and heat. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  5. Add the broccoli to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until it’s tender-crisp.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, along with the sauce mixture. Stir well to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  7. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a little heat and stir to combine.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with toasted sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

This Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe is easily adaptable to suit your taste buds. Feel free to swap out the broccoli for other veggies, like bell peppers or snow peas. You can also serve it over rice or noodles to make it a more filling meal. For a vegetarian option, substitute the chicken with tofu or tempeh. Just have fun and make it your own!
