Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 pita bread rounds
  • 2 cups lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
For the homemade tzatziki sauce:
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then grill them for about 5-6 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Once done, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
  2. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the homemade tzatziki sauce. In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir until well combined. Refrigerate the tzatziki sauce until ready to use.
  3. To assemble the wraps, warm the pita bread rounds in the oven or microwave for a few seconds to make them more pliable. Lay each pita on a flat surface layer the lettuce, tomato, sliced red onion, cucumber slices, and chicken. Then drizzle a healthy amount of tzatziki sauce over everything.
  4. Fold the bottom edge of the pita up and start rolling the pita into a wrap, tucking in the sides as you go.
  5. Slice the wraps in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, marinate the chicken in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and dried oregano before grilling. If you prefer a vegetarian option, you can skip the chicken and add falafel or grilled vegetables to the wrap instead. Serve the wraps with a side of olives and feta cheese for an authentic Greek touch. Enjoy!

Chef’s tip: Make a double batch of the tzatziki sauce and use it as a dip for pita chips or veggie sticks throughout the week.
