Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of cheese (such as Swiss or cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the croissants in half horizontally to create a pocket for the filling.
  3. Layer each croissant with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, and mayonnaise to make the honey mustard glaze.
  5. Place the filled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Crack an egg into each croissant, making sure the yolk stays intact. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Brush the honey mustard glaze generously over the tops of the croissants.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the croissants are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley, if desired.

Notes

Be sure to choose high-quality croissants with a buttery and flaky texture. Freshly baked croissants from a local bakery are ideal, but store-bought ones will work well too. For a runny yolk, bake the croissants with the eggs for a shorter time. If you prefer a fully cooked yolk, increase the baking time slightly. Feel free to customize the filling by adding additional ingredients such as sliced tomatoes, avocado, or spinach. Just make sure not to overcrowd the croissants. Serve these ham, egg, and cheese croissants warm for the best experience. They are delicious on their own, but you can also enjoy them with a side of fresh fruit or a cup of hot coffee. Happy eating!
