- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes

- Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

- Add the broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat.
- Allow the soup to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- While the soup is simmering, prepare your garnishes: dice the avocado, chop the jalapeno, cilantro, and red onion.
- Serve the soup hot, ladling it into bowls. Top each bowl with diced avocado, chopped jalapeno, cilantro, red onion, a dollop of sour cream, and a handful of tortilla chips.
- Enjoy your delicious Taco Soup with all the wonderful toppings!
Notes
Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preference – add shredded cheese or a squeeze of lime juice for an extra burst of flavor. For a spicier kick, leave the seeds and ribs of the jalapeno intact. If you prefer a thicker soup, you can mash some of the beans against the side of the pot with a spoon to create a creamier texture. Enjoy!
