Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, place the dried porcini mushrooms in a bowl and cover them with boiling water. Let them soak for about 10 minutes until they become soft and rehydrated. Drain the mushrooms and roughly chop them.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped porcini mushrooms to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing them to release their flavors.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens.
