- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup cooked spinach, squeezed dry
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Pasta Shells (10 minutes):
Cook the jumbo shells in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, taking care to keep them from sticking together. - Prepare the Filling (10 minutes):
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. In a bowl, combine the beef mixture, ricotta, spinach, half of the mozzarella, and all the Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper. - Fill the Shells (10 minutes):
Preheat your oven’s broiler. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the skillet. Stuff each pasta shell with the ricotta-beef mixture and place them in the skillet. - Add Sauce and Cheese (5 minutes):
Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top. - Broil (5 minutes):
Place the skillet under the broiler and cook until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 5 minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning. - Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy the rich and savory flavors of the stuffed shells, with the melted cheese providing a delightful finish.
