  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 24 dumplings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 package of dumpling wrappers
  • 2 cups of cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1/2 pound of ground meat (such as pork, chicken, or beef)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Crispy cooked bacon and fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, ground meat, minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of the cabbage and meat mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper in half, sealing the edges by pressing firmly with your fingers or using a fork to crimp the edges. Repeat this process until all the dumplings are filled.
  3. Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add enough cooking oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the dumplings in the pan, making sure they have enough space between them to prevent sticking. Cook the dumplings until they turn golden brown on the bottom.
  4. Once the bottoms of the dumplings are crispy and golden, pour about 1/4 cup of water into the pan and immediately cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 5 minutes or until the water has evaporated.
  5. Remove the lid and continue cooking the dumplings uncovered for an additional 2-3 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked and the bottoms remain crispy. Transfer the fried dumplings to a serving plate.
  6. Garnish the fried dumplings with crispy cooked bacon and freshly chopped parsley for an added burst of flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

To perfect this recipe, make sure to seal the dumplings tightly to prevent any filling from escaping during frying. You can also experiment with different dipping sauces, such as soy sauce mixed with vinegar or a spicy chili sauce, to elevate the flavors even further. These dumplings pair wonderfully with a side of steamed vegetables or a refreshing cucumber salad. Enjoy!
