Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Beyond Meat burger patties
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (such as cheddar or vegan cheese for a fully plant-based option)
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • Condiments of choice (such as ketchup, mustard, or vegan mayonnaise)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pickles, avocado slices, or sautéed mushrooms for additional toppings

Instructions

  1. Cook Beyond Meat Patties (10 minutes): Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the Beyond Meat patties with salt and pepper. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are heated through and have nice grill marks.
  2. Add Cheese (1 minute): In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  3. Prepare Burger Components (5 minutes): While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion, and wash the lettuce leaves. If using a toaster, lightly toast the hamburger buns until golden.
  4. Assemble the Burgers (5 minutes): Start with placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Follow with a slice of tomato and a few onion rings. Place the cooked Beyond Meat patty with melted cheese on top of the onions.
  5. Add Condiments and Serve (2 minutes): Add your favorite condiments to the top bun. Gently place the bun on top of the burger. If desired, add other toppings like pickles or avocado slices.
  6. Enjoy (1 minute): Serve the Classic Beyond Meat Burgers immediately, enjoying the blend of classic burger flavors and the plant-based twist.

Notes

The key to a perfect Beyond Meat burger is to cook the patties until they are nicely browned and to ensure the cheese is perfectly melted. Fresh, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and sharp onion add freshness and crunch to the burger but you can also customize with your favorite toppings and condiments.

Serve this sandwich with your preferred sides such as oven fries, chips, and a pickle. Enjoy!

Pair this with...

Oven Fries

To start, grab a couple of good-sized spuds and slice them into wedges, not too thick or thin. Now, toss them in a mixing bowl with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of salt, and whatever seasonings you fancy - maybe some paprika, garlic powder, or even rosemary. Spread them out on a baking sheet, making sure they aren't crowded so they get crispy all around. Pop them into a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C). Give 'em about 25-30 minutes, but flip them halfway so they get golden brown on both sides. Once they're crispy outside and soft inside, they're done! Pull them out, let them cool just a smidge, and then dive in.

Vinegar Cole Slaw

Start by thinly slicing or shredding a head of purple cabbage. Toss it in a bowl with some julienned carrots for a touch of sweetness and contrasting color. You can also throw in any additional veggies as desired. For the dressing, whisk together apple cider vinegar, a splash of olive oil, a pinch of sugar (or honey) to balance out the tartness, and seasonings like salt, pepper, and maybe a dash of celery seed. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, giving everything a good toss to ensure every bite is coated. Let it sit for a bit to allow the flavors to meld.

Fried Pickles

Start by grabbing a jar of your favorite pickles and slice them into coin shapes. Get 'em on some paper towels to blot out the excess moisture – the drier, the crispier they'll get. In one bowl, whisk up some eggs, and in another, mix together flour or breadcrumbs with seasonings like paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of cayenne if you're feeling spicy. Dip each pickle coin into the egg, then into the dry mix, making sure it's well coated. Heat some oil in a skillet until it's shimmering but not smoking. Carefully slide those coated pickles in and fry until they're golden and crispy. It's usually quick, so keep an eye out! Scoop them out, let them rest on a paper towel to get rid of any excess oil, and serve with a dipping sauce.
