  • Prep Time: 11 minutes
  • Cook Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 16 minutes
  • Yield: Depends on the number of Oreos used

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 bag of large marshmallows
  • 1 bar of milk chocolate, broken into pieces that fit the Oreos

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreos (5 minutes):
    • Carefully twist each Oreo to separate the cookies into two halves. Keep the cream side up as this will help “glue” the marshmallow and chocolate to the cookie.
    • Lay out half of the Oreo halves (cream side up) on a tray or plate.
  2. Toast the marshmallows (5 minutes):
    • If you have a gas stove, you can toast the marshmallows over the stove using a skewer. Hold the marshmallow over the flame, turning slowly, until it’s golden brown and gooey. Alternatively, you can broil the marshmallows in the oven. Place marshmallows on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches (5 minutes):
    • While the marshmallows are still warm (and extra gooey), place one toasted marshmallow on the cream side of each prepared Oreo half.
    • Immediately press a piece of milk chocolate into the marshmallow.
    • Top with the other half of the Oreo (cream side toward the chocolate) and gently press together. The warmth from the marshmallow will melt the chocolate slightly, helping everything stick together.
  4. Serve (1 minute):
    • Serve the Oreo S’mores immediately while the marshmallow and chocolate are still warm and melty for the best experience.

Notes

Oreo s’mores are a playful and delicious twist on traditional s’mores that don’t require a campfire. They are perfect for indoor gatherings and can be made in the comfort of your kitchen.

For a variation, try using different flavors of Oreos or chocolate for a new twist on this classic treat.

These sandwiches are best enjoyed right after assembly to capture the delightful contrast of the warm, gooey center and the crunchy cookie.
